Engine 88's last release:
Flies and Death 'n Stuff

Hi there

Long live George Carlin.

Things to live for

7/2/2008

Wow, lots has happened since the last update.

We played at the Every Day Is Saturday release party on Oct. 27 2006, which was a blast. In case you missed the show, here's a movie of it.

Engine 88: soon available at iTunes. See the Downloads page for more info.

And this page is starting to look a little like a blog, but it isn't. It's a static HTML page that's hand-crafted in the USA by qualified professionals. Since technology has progressed to a point where content can actually be updated frequently and easily by just about anyone, here are some places where you can find more up-to-date information about Engine 88.

Yes, we're playing

It's true: Engine 88 is playing a show. The deal is it's our old friend Peter Ellenby's book release party (the book is Every Day is Saturday), and he managed to contact a bunch of us old farts and connive us into sharing a backline and coughing up some tunes together. We're probably going to play 5-7 songs.

The show is on Friday October 27th, at Bottom of the Hill. The lineup is actually pretty impressive and fun: John Doe, Carlos, Overwhelming Colorfast, Oranger, and little old us. I can't yet figure out whether the order will be determined that night, or what, so if you're going to come, come early. It's a pretty tight pecking order (it's really a good lineup). You may want to get tickets now while they're still available.

I make no promises about what this means for future shows. It'd be great, but we've got lives and distance between us. But you never know.

Hope to see you there!

-Damon

Newly minted, downloadable, and pretty much always-available MP3's of Flies and Death 'n Stuff are now available!!

Just found a great site for bands that have disappeared into the ether: David Hornbuckle's Preservation of Music I Love site, where we join several other noteworthy groups who have gone the way of the Neanderthal... be sure to check out the discography, which includes (downloadable) items that I have not heard in quite a while.

From straight outta nowhere comes this awesome retrospective review of Clean Your Room. Apparently it was the Delusions of Adequacy Unappreciated Album of the Month for February 2001. How about that?

Can't tell you how great this makes us feel.

We also greatly appreciate the communications we receive from you once in a while. It's nice to know you're out there.

Note: Obviously, many parts of this site are grossly, absurdly out of date. Hopefully you are not using this site as any sort of source for reports on current events or active commentary on the insane state of things. We'll update from time to time, usually when some luminary or other kicks the bucket. Thanks for stopping by.
