Where They Are Now
It would seem likely that the boys would have gone out and slit their own throats after
breaking up the band. Instead they have flouted all the odds and, in the process of picking up the
pieces, have even begun to lead relatively normal and semi-productive lives.
Catch up with Damon, Dave, Eric and
Tom.
Damon
Mr. Wood went through a deep depression and got a job selling Winnebagos
for a short time. He later joined a troupe of travelling snake-handlers
as a waterboy/mouth-to-mouth resuscitation provider. He is currently playing
in a Pretenders cover band with Paige Weber (Van Gogh's Daughter), Daniel
Swan (Sneetches) and Mike Anderson (Big Blue Hearts, Cowlicks) and with Curtis Bumpy,
a rare-grooves R&B unit. Damon lives with his partner Jacki, and kids Frieda and Enzo.
Damon can be further investigated at DamonWood.com.
Dave
Mr. Hawkins took the opportunity to concentrate on his bowling form
and made an unsuccessful bid to join the pro circuit. For a while he settled
in Milwuakee, curating the Laverne and Shirley Museum downtown. Dave lives
in San Francisco with his partner Catherine and runs Lost Weekend Video,
a video rental outlet he opened with former Jawbreaker drummer Adam Pfahler.
Eric
Mr. Knight enlisted in the Navy and served for six months on board the USS George Hamilton as a bugler.
He was given an honorable discharge after he injured himself while saving his roomate from an electrical fire
in a latrine on the poopdeck.
Eric lives in the East Bay with his daughter Ivy.
Tom
Mr. Barnes returned to his roots as a mayonnaise farmer and hasn't
looked back. From time to time we get word that he has sold the farm, but
these messages come directly from him, so we don't really know what to make
of them. Tom lives in Los Angeles with his partner Rebecca, daughter Lucy and son Oliver.
